- New app hosts cryptocurrency checkouts
- Zero fees and instant transactions for customers
Daniel Brain, PayPal’s lead engineer of Checkout, has created BrainBlocks, a simple app for handling RaiBlocks cryptocurrency checkouts and money transfers.
For a long time, Bitcoin has been confronted with the problem of not being able to handle a large volume of money transfers. In fact, that number can be rather limited. To make matters worse, some of these transactions can take hours to come through, and users are charged around $15 for every transaction.
RaiBlocks aims to address these problems: its main benefits include practically instant transactions and zero fees. Instead of utilizing one large blockchain-based network as is the norm, RaiBlocks uses individual blockchains. Typically, a broader network is needed in order to verify transactions, which is not the case here.
RaiBlocks is relatively new, but it is not merely an incremental improvement on the existing blockchain technology, which this is what piqued Brain’s interest. Prior to commencing development, he educated himself and learned how to use the platform before executing mock transactions to learn more.
One weekend after trying out RaiBlocks, he built BrainBlock’s proof-of-concept. After spending a couple more days polishing it, it’s now working splendidly. In fact, it’s available right now to the wider marketplace.
However, the project is still in its alpha-phase with regards to quality. This is understandable given the fact it was developed over the course of one weekend.
Here’s what you need to do if you would like to utilize the new checkout app on your website:
1. Visit BrainBlock’s website and click ‘Try the button’.
2. Copy the code and install it on your website. Please ensure that payments go through normally.
3. Call the BrainBlocks API to verify the transaction.
The great news is that BrainBlocks users are not charged any fees.
