The OCC is set to be developed on a sprawling 400,000sqm of land in Muscat. It will house three major national institutions – the National Library, the National Theatre, and the National Records and Archives Authority.
Spanning 16,500sqm, the National Theatre will feature a 1,000-seat auditorium, providing a space for training programmes for skilled workers, theatrical activities and school curricula integration.
With an estimated cost of $383m, the OCC will be a beacon of cultural advancement for the sultanate, providing a platform for artistic expression and preserving the rich heritage of Oman for generations to come.
The complex will feature eight additional buildings for various facilities, including the Children’s Library, House of Cinema, House of Arts and Literary Forum.
The Arts House, covering 3,500sqm, will support young talent in fine arts, drawing and music through training programmes, tools and laboratories.
