RM Sotheby’s has partnered with Le Mans and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) to host a Le Mans Centenary Auction during the famous motor race in June 2023.
An auction of 24 sports racing cars will be held on the track during the centenary race weekend of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, all cars boasting unique race histories and ownership.
The 2023 edition of ‘the greatest race on Earth’ will be a grand celebration featuring exclusive activities to commemorate the 100th running of the event, with the auction said to be an essential part of the festivities.
RM Sotheby’s stated that to reach the site of the auction marquee, bidders must possess a general admission ticket for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, access to the marquee comes at no extra cost.
Access to the track auction is for registered bidders and their guests only, and catalogues are available to purchase onsite.
A notable lot available is the Jacky Ickx Rothmans Porsche race suit, tailored with the iconic Rothmans Porsche livery, which is a desirable collectable item for any Le Mans or Porsche enthusiast.
By including rare collectable items, RM Sotheby’s hopes to attract wealthy motorcar enthusiasts and HNWIs to bid on the various lots, both in person and internationally.
Participating international HNWIs should use a safe money transfer service to purchase these highly sought-after items.
