Payer, a Swedish business-to-business payments technology firm, has confirmed that it will be working with global credit card supplier American Express.

Payer said that it will be working alongside the company to increase digital payment adoption in the Nordic region. This includes major northern European economies such as Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

It is thought that the scheme will allow Payer’s clients to make digital business-to-business transactions using American Express cards.

It is also expected that a large variety of services will be covered by the move. Press reports indicated that Payer’s automated accounts receivables service will be covered by the online money transfer development.

Daniel Brännström, Director of Partnerships at Payer, said that the move will give business-to-business customers in Europe a boosted range of payment choice options.

“Payer is excited to be partnering with American Express to provide our European B2B customers even greater payment choice when paying for goods and services on our B2B checkout, across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, automotive, consulting and financial services,” he said.

“This aligns with our objective of being the preferred B2B payments service provider across the Nordics and in Europe,” he explained.

“Partnering with payment providers like Payer makes it easier for American Express to be accepted at more locations; this is particularly important in the growing B2B payments space,” said Keith McDonald, Vice President of Payment Facilitation and Small Merchant Partnerships at American Express.

“It also means that Cardmembers can use their cards in even more places and have even greater choice of where they can use their card.”
