  • Two companies from the international money transfer world are set to collaborate on a new project designed to improve the payments sphere in Moldova.
  • Clear Junction will provide Paynet with its ‘correspondent account’ services.
  • “We look forward to developing the relationship further in the future, specifically to enable Moldova-based businesses to pay partners in Europe for a range of goods and services,” said a senior figure at Clear Junction.

Clear Junction and Paynet, two firms in the international money transfer sector, have confirmed that they will work together to offer a new set of payments tools to customers.

Paynet, which is a Moldovan electronic wallet platform, focuses on bringing together financial institutions and consumers.

It also looks to improve domestic payment services and caters to both companies and private individuals.

Clear Junction, which is based in London, will offer its ‘correspondent account’ service to Paynet.

This service involves improving the offer of regional payment operators in the Eastern Europe region.

In a statement, the chief executive of Paynet Services said that the new arrangement would lead to SEPA payment options being available to Moldovans across the Eurozone.

Calin Gryadchenko said that working with Clear Junction would offer Paynet the chance to provide SEPA payments across the region.

“By partnering with Clear Junction, we are able to provide SEPA payment options to all Moldovans residing in the eurozone, who will be able to make euro payments as simply, safely and cheaply as national payments – there will be no difference between sending a payment from London to Chișinău or from Bălți to Rome,” he explained.

He went on to say that the moment was a “milestone” for the company – and that payments would now be more frictionless than before.

“An important milestone for Paynet has been reached today with the launch of SEPA payments through Clear Junction. We can make direct payments across Europe, as if no borders existed,” he said.

For Clear Junction, the chief executive there said that the company was very pleased to be collaborating in this way.

Dima Kats explained that the company was looking forward to empowering Paynet to grow in this way and offer these services in the region.

“Clear Junction is delighted to be helping Paynet achieve its aim to provide effective cross-border payment services into Moldova.”

He also said that the company planned to make use of the advantages it already had in regard to its infrastructure, including its payment rails – and use it to provide a better customer experience.

“By utilising our existing infrastructure and access to payment rails and networks, Paynet is able to better serve people in the Moldovan region,” he said.

The cross-border payments sector is ever changing, and this new collaboration is just one example of how firms are working together – to learn more about it and what it can offer you, just head over to our reviews section and continue reading.
