  • Abu Dhabi has once again made its mark on the global culinary scene as Erth, an Emirati restaurant in the city, has been awarded a prestigious Michelin star.
  • Alongside Erth, Talea by Antonio Guida, Hakkasan and 99 Sushi Bar have also maintained their stars from the previous year.
  • Abu Dhabi’s annual millionaire count has increased threefold due to luxury cultural attractions.

Erth, an Emirati restaurant located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, has achieved a momentous milestone by winning a prestigious Michelin star.

Situated in the shadow of the historic Qasr Al Hosn, Erth prides itself on its commitment to showcasing the rich heritage of Emirati cuisine.

This significant recognition was announced in the highly anticipated Michelin Guide Abu Dhabi 2024, which showcases the finest dining establishments in the city.

The Michelin Guide, introduced in Abu Dhabi in 2022, is renowned for its anonymous inspectors who meticulously evaluate and endorse exceptional restaurants. It features a diverse range of culinary experiences, representing 21 different types of cuisine.

Bloomberg predicted that 4,500 millionaires were set to move to the UAE’s capital in 2023, compared to the 1,000 who typically moved there each year pre-pandemic.

According to Henley & Partners, Abu Dhabi has become a hotspot for millionaires in the past year. The city has moved out of Dubai’s shadow to become an attractive destination for wealthy travellers, with the majority of immigrants arriving from the UK, Russia, Lebanon and South Africa.

High net-worth individuals (HNWIs) who are eager to experience the luxury that comes with living in Abu Dhabi will need access to a secure money transfer service.

Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the Michelin Guides, expressed his admiration for the culinary diversity and dynamism of Abu Dhabi during the awards ceremony held at Louvre Abu Dhabi Park. Poullennec praised Erth for its unique dining experience that celebrates the beauty and traditions of the UAE.

In addition to Erth, two other restaurants in Abu Dhabi have received the ‘Bib Gourmand’ distinction for their delicious food at moderate prices. With a total of six Michelin-recognised establishments in the city, Abu Dhabi's culinary reputation continues to grow.

Al Mrzab and Oii, known for their Emirati and Mediterranean cuisines respectively, have won the prestigious ‘Bib Gourmand’ award in the Michelin Guide.

In addition to these six restaurants, nine more eateries have been added to the Michelin Guide Abu Dhabi. These establishments offer a wide range of culinary delights from Argentinean to Emirati, and Spanish to Malaysian.

HNWIs looking to immigrate to the UAE should research the best ways to make international payments.
