Leading global money transfer service Western Union has announced a partnership with the Albertsons supermarket chain to offer a full range of services in-store.
As Western Union's newest US money transfer services agent, Albertsons locations across the country will offer customers convenient access to the full range of Western Union products and services, including domestic and international money transfers, bill pay and money order purchases. Western Union mobile app users can even initiate a money transfer online and complete the transaction in cash in-store at any Albertsons location.
Hikmet Ersek, Western Union President and CEO, is optimistic that the deal with Albertsons will improve the money transfer services firm's reach across the globe.
"At Western Union, we continue to connect the dots across the world as we link reputable US brands, popular with our money transfer customers, to our global agent network in more than 200 countries and territories," said Ersek.
He added that the partnership will make it even more convenient for customers to send and receive international payments and access other important financial services as they go about their daily routines, such as shopping for groceries or picking up prescription medications.
Mark Panzer, Senior Vice President of Albertsons' Pharmacy Health and Wellness, agrees.
"At Albertsons Companies, our goal is to exceed our customers' evolving expectations by seeking better ways to create and deliver unsurpassed service and value. Our agreement with Western Union will help our customers quickly and easily complete multiple errands under one roof," he said.
All Albertsons brand stores are part of the Western Union deal, including Albertsons, Acme, Carrs, Haggen, Jewel-Osco, Pavilions, Randalls, Safeway, Shaw's, Star Market, Tom Thumb, United Supermarkets and Vons.
