Razer Fintech, a sector of leading gaming and lifestyle company Razer Inc., has just announced the acquisition of one of Indonesia’s leading B2B2C companies – PT E2Pay Global Utama (E2Pay).

Razer Fintech was founded in 2018 in Hong Kong and has grown into one of the leading O2O (offline to online) companies, providing fintech services to emerging global markets.

In recent years, Razer Fintech has focused much of its attention on Southeast Asia, and this partnership signifies its intention to dominate the Indonesian market.

E2Pay serves multiple industries across Indonesia, including e-marketplaces, tourism, professional services and banking.

It also offers payment gateways, e-money and licenses for remittance services.

The partnership will help Razer Fintech’s B2B segment, Razer Merchant Services, to facilitate cross-border payments for its 60,000 merchants to Indonesia.

On the consumer level, E2Pay’s e-money platform, MBayar, is used by more than 500,000 customers to complete everyday needs such as QR code payments, online money transfers, bills and cash withdrawals.

These new services will add value to Razer Fintech’s business arm, which is primarily composed of its merchant services.

In a statement, E2Pay chairman Rudy Danandjaja said: “We hope that the synergy between E2Pay and Razer Fintech will enable both organisations to tap on our merchant base to grow, expand and scale our platform’s reach across Southeast Asia.”

Indonesia is one of the fastest-growing digital economies, with internet access and computer literacy spreading across the country.

For companies to take full advantage of this potential, it is imperative to have access to cutting-edge services.

Razer Fintech reported a total payment volume of $7bn for FY 2021, and the acquisition of E2Pay will enable it to flourish and grow throughout Southeast Asia.
