QIIB, a provider of international money transfer services, has confirmed that it will be working with Western Union as part of a push for new and improved payout services.
The company said that its new system will let people access the Western Union service through both internet-based and mobile banking facilities.
It will be possible for money to be moved out of the customer’s account and over to the QIIB account through a simple process, according to press reports.
There are more than 130 nations in the international network belonging to Western Union – and customers of QIIB will now be able to access this.
It comes after the company decided to place a new focus on digital transformation.
“We aim to provide the best in class services to our valued customers. It is with this in mind that we have launched the direct remittance service to a beneficiary’s bank account in partnership with Western Union, to simplify the remittance process for customers and provide them with a flexible option to allow them to perform remittances around the clock, without the need to visit a QIIB branch or any remittance offices,” explained Omar Abdelaziz al-Meer, Chief of the Business Development and Alternative Channels at QIIB.
“We are pleased to partner with Western Union, a global payments provider,” he continued.
“Our collaboration started a number of years ago and we are pleased to further deepen it through this new service, which will, undoubtedly, enrich our experience and partnership.”
Despite the online focus, there will still be an opportunity for those who wish to pick up their money in cash at a physical location to do so, press reports said.
