The growing independent foreign currency exchange broker wants to expand its capabilities in the US and in other markets through Datapipe’s managed IT infrastructure

Following the acquisition of new international offices, one of the UK’s fastest growing independent foreign currency exchange brokers, Moneycorp has partnered with Datapipe in order to expand the company’s IT capabilities and connect its offices and its products with Datapipe’s managed cloud services.

Moneycorp, already providing services for personal international transfers, corporate international transfers, and travel money, was stretching its existent infrastructures to cope with its business’s fast-paced growth. Currently, it trades £13 billion in foreign currency every year executing over nine million transactions to its private and corporate costumers.

Moneycorp is willing to continue its expansion outside the UK. Priority has been given to the US market where it is set to develop further and expand its infrastructure within the US to the same level of presence as in its British domestic market, relying directly on Datapipe’s local US infrastructure and management. The two companies had been preparing and planning for this development and the resulting project is ready to be implemented. Expansion plans do not stop there as Moneycorp explores ways to grow into Brazil and plans to expand into Australia in the near future.

Securing IT capabilities

Crucial to these plans are the Datapipe’s changes and flexible expansion capabilities that allowed Moneycorp to reduce its overall IT risk. Kenneth Byrne, head of IT services at Moneycorp, said: “Having an international partner such as Datapipe has been a considerable benefit to us. Datapipe has allowed us to expand our infrastructure internationally and supported our growth beyond the UK.”

This project has also freed its own IT team resources: “Most importantly, the stable and resilient infrastructure has been vital in terms of facilitating our growth. It’s not something I have to worry about because I know Datapipe is looking after it. As a result of the reliability, we are now leveraging the infrastructure for business-critical telephony services too”, added Byrne.

With the implementation of this project, Moneycorp increases the reliability of its operation for all its customers and secures resources for its future expansions keeping its place as one of the UK’s fastest growing independent foreign currency exchange brokers. “Moneycorp has witnessed extraordinary growth in the last few years, and we are delighted to have helped the company with this global expansion. Moneycorp now has the infrastructure in place to maintain and develop its global presence. Datapipe’s international expertise has been a vital component in this journey”, commented Scotty Morgan, Chief Sales Officer, Europe at Datapipe.
