  • Veem wins Emerging App Partner of the Year Award
  • Tributes paid for "outstanding achievement" helping smaller businesses

Aussie entrepreneurs seeking the most efficient and least costly means of making cross-border payments might do well to familiarise themselves with B2B international money transfers platform Veem, which has just won a top honour in the US for simplifying international payments for businesses.

The 2017 Emerging App Partner of the Year Award was bestowed on Veem last week by Xero, a global small business platform with more than 100,000 business advisors in its worldwide network.

In awarding the honour, Xero said it reflected “outstanding achievement” on Veem’s part to be recognised as one of the international payments industry’s best examples.

Veem, which was founded in 2014, is integrated with Xero’s network, a feature that allows fast, simple and seamless payments to international vendors directly from cloud-based accounting software.

As Xero Americas President Keri Gohman explained, today’s bookkeepers and accountants have in fact morphed into real business advisers courtesy of cutting-edge technology, which has helped them take on these new roles. With next-generation cloud technology, advisers can pinpoint the various snares and opportunities that many small business owners might otherwise overlook, especially if they are new, she said, adding:

“Therefore, we are very proud to award Veem with this honour, as we know they are truly dedicated to helping small businesses grow globally and build long-term sustainability.”

Winners of the 2017 Xero Awards were judged across a range of criteria, including innovation, certification, ability to provide customer solutions and enhance productivity, and proficiency in cloud technology tools to add value to small enterprises.

Accepting the award, Veem CEO and founder Marwan Forzley said: “Working with Xero has been wonderful for us. Much like Xero, we want to make it easy for small businesses to get their job done so they can focus on building their business. It’s an honour to be recognized by Xero and look forward to working with the team to continue to build innovative solutions that improve the lives of small businesses.”
