  • “No longer should cross-border payments be fraught with complexity and be shrouded by unpredictable fees and exchange rates. Today, BONI’s customers can make transfers with confidence and certainty,” said a spokesperson for BONI.

Bank of Nevis International (BONI), a provider of holistic wealth management and financial technology services, has confirmed that it will begin to offer international money transfer services following a new partnership with Mastercard.

The development is part of a new push for improved security and efficiency in cross-border payments.

It is thought that customers of BONI will soon be able to make global transfers with a higher degree of certainty and speed than before.

It is believed that over 100 markets will benefit from the new service and that over 60 currencies will be included, covering 90% of the world’s population.

Part of the new arrangement will also focus on instant payments, which will be possible in over 40 nations.

Speaking about the announcement, Deji F. Akadiri, Vice President for Fintech and Security at BONI, said: “As a first mover, BONI has pioneered this relationship and led the way with Mastercard for the benefit of our global clients and businesses around the world.”

He went on to say that the drive for financial technology support will be a boost to the organisation and its customers.

“Our fintech drive increases the BONI footprint and the cross-border payment relationship with Mastercard underpins and supports the ambitions of our customers all around the world,” he explained.

“No longer should cross-border payments be fraught with complexity and be shrouded by unpredictable fees and exchange rates. Today, BONI’s customers can make transfers with confidence and certainty.”

Dalton Fowles, Country Manager - Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados & Eastern Caribbean at Mastercard, said that making the process simpler was important.

“By simplifying and optimising the cross-border payments process, Mastercard and BONI provide a more cost- and time-efficient solution that provides greater transparency for customers,” he said.
