Wizz Financial, a leading provider in the international money transfer industry, has confirmed that it has hired a new chief executive officer.

Wizz Financial said that it had appointed Anton Pasiechnikov to the role.

He had been serving as chief investment officer of Revolut, which is also an online money transfer company.

Overall, he has amassed over two decades of experience in the sector.

In addition to Revolut, he has also worked at companies such as Renaissance Capital and Credit Suisse.

He has a master’s degree in Biochemical Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology.

He has also received an Executive Master of Business Administration degree, which comes from London Business School.

In a statement, the co-founder and chairman of Wizz Financial said that Pasiechnikov would bring a lot of useful experience to the firm.

Amir Nagammy said that the company’s goal was to build the largest financial technology company in the Middle East and North Africa region.

“Anton brings an important dimension of experience to our company and will play an important role as we continue to build the largest fintech in the MENA region and serve more than 20 million customers,” he said.

He went on to say that one of the areas in which Pasiechnikov would be strong was business development skills.

“His extensive financial background and business development skills will help build the leading technology payment platform for the MENA region, Africa and India.”

Pasiechnikov himself said that he was looking forward to joining the team and that he was “very excited” at the prospect.

“Wizz Financial has created the largest cross-border payments system in the region and I am very excited to join the team and to work closely with them to revolutionize this industry and reimagine financial services for our customers,” he explained.
