Western Union, a major provider of fast money transfer services, has confirmed that it will be working with payments organisation NymCard to offer improved payments.
The services will be focused in particular on the United Arab Emirates, which is a major location for money transfers.
The new arrangement is expected to help NymCard build its user base within the Middle East. It is also thought that its digital payments offering will be expanded into an increased range of financial institutions as a result of the partnership.
The new arrangement will give the opportunity for money transfers to be made to more than 130 nations across the globe and cash payout locations are expected to total far more than this.
In a statement, Omar Onsi, CEO of NymCard, said that his company had always been focused on developing proper partnerships of this type.
“We have always invested in financial partnerships that spur growth, enhance our technology offering and form meaningful relationships,” he said.
“We are thrilled to come together with Western Union, enabling connections to more than 200 countries and territories. This collaboration will provide a truly inclusive offering that leaves no one behind.”
Hatem Sleiman, Head of Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan at Western Union, explained the impact that the pairing would have.
“Remittances are one of the main global connectors that bind people, places, economies and societies together,” he said.
“Through our collaboration with NymCard, we are excited to enable more financial institutions in the UAE to conveniently move money to more than 200 countries and territories through a single integration point.”
