- Radius and WEX team up to offer fuel card targeted at SMEs
- Payment for petrol about to become easier thanks to firms’ expertise
- “We look forward to the rollout of additional fleet services in North America”, says leader
A growing UK-based payment solutions business has launched a foray into the North American market by announcing a new fuel payment card targeted at American drivers.
Radius Payment Solutions, which is based in Crewe in North West England, has teamed up with payment processing provider WEX to deliver the card.
It comes after it built its fuel card business across Europe and even as far afield as Asia. It has worked with WEX for five years.
Fuel cards are designed to make payment for petrol or gas easier. Radius’ cards are targeted at small to medium-sized enterprises – and aim to increase the range of choices for business leaders who transfer money internationally to pay for petrol.
Radius has an office in Boston, Massachusetts, which opened last year.
Leaders of both firms said that they were pleased to see their international partnership grow.
Radius’ chief executive, Bill Holmes, said: "Our new range of fuel cards will build on our success in Europe and strengthen our offering in the US as part of our international growth strategy.
“We look forward to the rollout of additional fleet services in North America and expect to grow our client portfolio significantly over the next few years."
Jay Collins, Senior Vice President at WEX and the firm’s small fleet general manager, said: "We're excited to see our partnership with Radius expand into the United States."
