  • Roxe, which offers blockchain infrastructure services, has announced that it has partnered with Cebuana Lhuillier, which is based in the Philippines and provides micro financial services.
  • Roxe will enable cross-border remittances via its own blockchain network and the diverse fund delivery services offered by Cebuana.
  • “This collaboration will allow us to connect to Roxe Inc.’s blockchain network, eliminating key pain points of our clients, while accelerating and optimizing cross-border payments,” said a spokesperson for Cebuana.

Roxe, a provider of blockchain infrastructure services, has confirmed that it will be working alongside Cebuana Lhuillier, a provider of micro financial services based in the Philippines.

The arrangement aims to simplify international money transfer services and remittance payments for customers based in the major Southeast Asian economy.

Roxe will enable cross-border remittances via its own blockchain network and the diverse fund delivery services offered by Cebuana.

Cebuana, which has more than 3,000 physical locations in the Philippines, offers remittance services via its cash collection option as well as its direct-to-account services.

“This partnership is an exciting step forward for Roxe as it gives us a strong distribution network to clients in the Philippines,” said Josh Li, chief business officer at Roxe.

“The country has emerged as a serious player on the global financial stage, and whether it’s disbursing funds to end users’ bank accounts or directly allowing cash pickups onsite, all Cebuana clients are now able to receive funds from within the Roxe network.”

Jean Henri Lhuillier, who is the president and chief executive officer at Cebuana, said that people in the country were looking for a simple, reliable service.

“The Philippines’ remittance market has grown tremendously to become the fourth largest in the world, meaning Filipino citizens are in need of an easier, more dependable, and secured facility for them to send and receive their money, anytime and anywhere,” he said.

“This collaboration will allow us to connect to Roxe Inc.’s blockchain network, eliminating key pain points of our clients, while accelerating and optimizing cross-border payments.”
