Fast money transfer services to Jamaica received a boost recently after Paysend announced its partnership with JMMB Money Transfer, a service designed to help people send cash.
The service will allow cost-effective and safe cash transfers to be sent to Jamaica from family and friends in the US, Canada and the UK.
It will work on what is known as a “deposit to account” basis, meaning that the money can be sent as cash but received in a bank account.
The funds can be claimed on the same day as the transfer using an ATM machine.
Alex Bessonov, Group Head of Network Development and Strategic Partnerships at Paysend, said that it would also help them to help their Jamaican friends and relatives.
“This partnership between JMMB Money Transfer and Paysend will encourage users all over the globe, namely the UK, US and Canada, to connect across borders and send money to support loved ones in Jamaica,” he said.
“They will experience more affordable rates and quicker processing speeds when sending remittances,” he explained.
“Through Paysend’s easy-to-use app, automated phone number and text ID verification, users can benefit from a quick and simple onboarding process, allowing them to make transfers through the Paysend platform immediately.”
And for JMMB Money Transfer, CEO Sharon Gibson said that the firm was pleased about the new partnership.
“We are happy to forge this partnership with Paysend, as it gives Jamaicans in the diaspora more seamless and safe options to send money to family and other loved ones,” she said.
