· PayPal will now offer payment solutions across Google's ecosystem, including Gmail and YouTube
· US customers simply add PayPal to their existing Google services
· Partnership will expand access to alternative payment solutions across Google offerings
PayPal has just announced it is expanding its partnership with Google Pay, bringing optimized payment solutions to the entire Google ecosystem.
US users can now establish links to their PayPal accounts on Gmail, YouTube, Google Pay and Google Store, as well as other Google services that allow P2P money transfers. This will enable seamless transactions and faster online payments for products and services without the hassle of entering a credit card number or leaving the app.
The recent move comes not long after PayPal announced plans to integrate with Android Pay, another Google product. This deal has made it possible for consumers to use PayPal with Android Pay in-store at brick and mortar retailers, online or in the Android Pay app, wherever the platform is accepted.
PayPal is further integrated with Google Pay on the Chrome mobile web browser for instant payments at dozens of e-commerce merchants, requiring just an active a PayPal account and simple device authentication.
According to PayPal executive vice president and COO Bill Ready, the expanded partnership speaks to both companies' commitment to providing simpler, more convenient payment solutions for customers. He said that both PayPal and Google want to continue to work together to develop even more effective online payment solutions for consumers and to provide e-retailers with payment solutions that can help grow their businesses.
"PayPal and Google Pay share common goals of creating simple payment solutions across our platforms that enable people to shop more seamlessly. We look forward to continued collaboration that helps increase conversion for merchants and gives users the flexibility, security and speed that digital payments can offer," Ready said.
