Oman Air, a major airline carrier, has confirmed a partnership with HSBC for an improved fast money transfer offer.

The new service is expected to push up security as well as provide a boost to efficiency. It will operate from a treasury hub in the country, which has been described as “centralised”.

HSBC will offer its “Global Disbursement” service from this hub. It will provide the opportunity for numerous currency transactions at once and will also improve transparency through what is known as a “track and trace” function.

In a statement, Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Oman Air's CEO, said that the company was committed to investing in "innovative" financial services for its clients. He also mentioned the firm sees itself as an international carrier.

"Oman Air continues to invest in innovative financial solutions as a crucial component of our success as a truly global airline," he said.

He praised HSBC’s Global Disbursement options for their flexibility in terms of security, simplicity and more.

"HSBC's Global Disbursement solution provides us with simplicity, expediency and security. We are confident that this partnership will enable us to achieve a more streamlined international payments procedure and, ultimately, enhance our guest experience," he said.

He also said that the company wanted to work hard to improve the world of banking, including in terms of accessibility.

“At HSBC Oman, we are committed to innovating in our technology to make banking easier, more accessible and more secure for our clients,” he said.

CEO of HSBC Oman Melika Betley said that making the sector simpler was a key goal of the firm.

“Our Global Disbursement solution is designed to simplify the cross-border payment process by reducing costs, minimising risk and improving transparency,” Melika Betley said.

She added that the payment solutions team had a strong track record in this particular geographical area.

“Our Global Payments Solutions Team has a proven record of providing clients across the MENAT Region with a comprehensive suite of market-leading, innovative solutions and products to help them do business every day,” she said.
