Geoswift and Fintiv, two organisations in the online money transfer sphere, have announced a partnership to improve remittance flows into Asia.

Fintiv is a mobile commerce platform that combines loyalty programmes and payment services and has been used by over 1.5 billion customers across the globe.

Geoswift is a payments technology provider with a niche in Asian cross-border payments.

The companies said the move will be made possible through the mobile wallet service offered by Fintiv.

The new arrangement will allow clients of Finitiv to make individual or corporate payments into a wide range of countries in Asia, including India and China.

In a statement, David Hanna, Chairman of Fintiv, explained that the company would also be boosting its presence in Hong Kong as part of the arrangement.

“We are proud to announce a partnership with Geoswift as part of our global digital currency network and are very excited to expand our reach into China and Hong Kong,” he said.

He added that the partnership between the two organisations would be “strategically beneficial”.

“Supporting Geoswift’s platform with Fintiv technology while enabling our clients to make payments and remittances in Yuan and Hong Kong Dollars is strategically beneficial,” he explained.

In further remarks, the Founder and CEO of Geoswift, Raymond Qu, said that the two companies sought to improve connections worldwide.

“Geoswift and Fintiv share an unwavering commitment to make the world a more mobile and connected place,” he said.

He added that clients were likely to experience an improved experience once the new service was underway.

“This collaboration will give customers an exceptional digital payment experience, with great convenience and efficiency, to connect with families, friends or business partners overseas,” he explained.

The new approach will allow cash to be transferred to mobile wallets in Asia. It will also be possible for money to be transferred to domestic banks, according to one report.
