Ebanx, a leading provider of cross-border payments in the field of commerce solutions in Latin America, has confirmed that it has hired a new president of global payments.
Ebanx said that it had appointed Paula Bellizia to the role.
Bellizia formerly served as a senior executive at a number of technology companies, including Microsoft and Google.
As an executive at the Brazilian international money transfer platform company, she will be working on a range of international projects, including marketing and sales.
She will also be responsible for expanding the business’s worldwide growth.
Her most recent role was as vice president for marketing at Google in Latin America.
Before that she also worked at other big-name firms in the technology sector, such as Facebook.
In a statement, Bellizia praised Ebanx for having what she described as a “consistent” approach to growth.
“Ebanx has a consistent trajectory, launching products and services that open many doors: from the business to consumer market, from consumers to the best brands, and from a digital economy that creates more access and fosters ecosystems,” she said.
She went on to say that she was very positive about the prospect of working together with the current leading lights at Ebanx.
“I am thrilled with the challenge of continuing and accelerating this work alongside all the talents at Ebanx,” she explained.
A senior figure currently at the firm, meanwhile, said that the company was on a mission to “level-up”.
João Del Valle, who is the chief executive officer of Ebanx, said that the company was delighted to be welcoming Bellizia.
“We are so pleased by the arrival of Paula, who will help us level-up at a significant moment in the history of Ebanx, the payments industry at-large, and the global digital market,” he explained.
Ebanx has quickly established itself as a leader in this field since it was first set up back in 2012.
It has been responsible for helping a huge number of people in Latin America find their way onto major e-commerce platforms – including Amazon.
It has also been the recipient of a large amount of funding from investors.
It is understood, for example, to have received over US$400m in funding.
